JQuery Datatables

Little bit of a quickie post in the Coding realm here, just to highlight a cool little JQuery plugin I’ve been using for a couple of years now called DataTables. At its most basic, DataTables takes a flat HTML table and turns it into something that’s sortable, searchable and paginated – handy for being able to deploy a quick dashboard on top of some server generated data.

If you deep dive into the docs, though (found on the DataTables website) you’ll see that there’s a lot more you can do, like being able to add and remove rows, create detailed filters and export options. I’ve used DataTables on a couple of projects and they’ve proven to be an utterly invaluable tool.

Check out the page I’ve made on my GitHub playground to see one in action. You can have them up and running in literally minutes providing you link the libraries in correctly.
