Here’s a quick one – I’ve been using Codepen.io for a couple of months now and I think it’s a fantastic tool for web developers, particularly those with a focus or interest in front end. Not only are there some incredible examples from other members of the community of inventive uses of HTML, CSS and Javascript, it’s also a great place to show off your portfolio! I personally use it for layout and UI snippets, and it’s handy to be able to recall them for ease of use in projects – I’m definitely of the mindest that anything you build should be easily reusable and Codepen.io definitely embraces that mentality.

One of the things I’m particularly pleased about is that Codepen.io allows you to fully configure your pens with your favourite pre-processors and frameworks, as well as allowing you to sideload other resources. I’ve also been using my (currently) unused Github.io site to serve images to my pens, which has been super handy.

Check out some of my work on Codepen.io here and spend some time looking at other folks pens and projects. There’s some really smart stuff on there and you should totally sign up if you’ve not already done so!
